Questions
Is this real trading?
No. Ghost Run is a simulator using historical data. No real money is staked and nothing can be bought. It is not a broker and it is not gambling.
Do you show live prices?
No, and we never will. Prices appear at a decision point inside a replay, where they are part of a decision rather than something to browse.
Do I need an account?
No. The first replays work with no signup at all. An account only matters if you want your history on more than one device.
Can I lose real money?
No. The money is pretend. That is the point: the mistakes are free exactly once.
Are the prices accurate?
Every decision you are asked to make is priced at the real closing price on that real date: GameStop at $347.51 on 27 January 2021, oil at minus $37.63 on 20 April 2020. Your result, and the buy-and-hold and panic-seller figures you are graded against, all come from those real prices. The line between decisions is smoothed so the chart draws continuously, so a day you were not trading on may differ slightly from the record.
Can I bet against a company?
In one replay, yes, and it is there to show you why that is dangerous. Elsewhere the app is long-only, and the glossary explains shorting, leverage and options along with why they are not simulated.
Is this financial advice?
No. Nothing in Ghost Run is advice or a recommendation. If you want advice, speak to someone authorised by the FCA.
What does it cost?
Two replays are free and always will be. No account is needed for those. Unlocking the rest is a single payment of £9.99 in the UK, priced by Apple and Google in other currencies. That is the whole cost.
Is it a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase, so nothing renews, nothing is charged again and there is no trial to cancel. If you change phone, Restore purchases in Settings brings the unlock back.
